REIMS Methodology
With increasing market and business pressures most organisations are seeking to implement a variety of B2B and Web Services initiatives. The requirement is to deploy and roll out both old and new technologies as required by the business.
To assist the efficient and effective deployment of a Virtual Business Networking (VBN) infrastructure, SAA has developed the REIMS Methodology. The REIMS Methodology delivers a formal, yet practical method for the design, implementation and change management of a business integration strategy.

A time-phased methodology that changes to meet evolving market and business requirements.
The REIMS Methodology Process
The REIMS Methodology delivers a time-phased methodology focused on delivering enhanced corporate productivity and return on investment within a short time span. To achieve this, the methodology is comprised of a number of components:
| 1. Strategy |
|
An understanding of where the company is now and what is required to achieve B2Bi and/or knowledge management objectives, with an outline five-year plan and a detailed two-year plan. |
| 2. Quality Plan |
|
A detailed plan of how business integration objectives and milestones are to be met over a period of one year. |
| 3. Standards |
|
Defining the standards policy appropriate to meet the organisation's specific in-house, project and industry requirements for Business Process Management (BPM), data synchronisation, Web Services and Service Orientated Architecture (SOA), EAI and Information Quality Control. |
| 4. Project Implementation |
|
Project control procedures to manage the successful implementation of the individual projects identified within the strategy, in a manner conformant to the e-business Quality Plan. |
| 5. Business Partner Community Management |
|
Management roll out and community management to ensure the effective achievement of live business-to-business exchanges with partners, encompassing a formal update process. |
